Summary
This policy brief examines four possible ways of improving the implementation of state programmes: the identification and use of synergy between the programmes; monitoring and evaluation of programmes; development of a system of incentives for managers who are responsible for implementing programmes and measures aimed at increasing the role of the private sector in the implementation of government programmes. The recommendations presented in the paper are based on the the experience of the EU countries.
