Civil society of Belarus: current state and development conditions

The analysis of the current state of civil society in Belarus faces a number of methodological difficulties related to gaps in official statistics, a small number of special studies, and restrictions on freedom of association in Belarus, where a significant part of public activity is shadowed for various reasons. In this analytical review, we summarise the data of several of our own sociological and sectoral studies of 2014-2017, as well as draw on official statistics and the results of some special recent studies.
