Institutes and economic development

The quality of institutions is the main factor in the success or failure of nations and the fundamental source of differences in per capita income among the countries. This paper analyses the essence of institutions and their influence on the economic development of developed and developing countries. It also provides an assessment of institutional development in Belarus over 1996-2015 and directions for further development of institutions based on the experience of other countries.
