Summary

This review of the situation of children and young people with disabilities in Belarus has collected a variety of data on this particular vulnerable group, unresolved problems related to it. We hope that the report will help policymakers, specialists, public activists dealing with disability issues improve the lives of people with disabilities and promote the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

The report also provides information on the situation of persons with disabilities in the European Union, using the example of Poland. A comparative analysis of the two systems will help to understand better the barriers to social inclusion of people with disabilities and to determine the direction of investing funds, knowledge and experience to unlock the immense potential of people with disabilities.

Center for Social and Economic Research CASE Belarus presents an analytical report on the results of the first stage of the research within the project “Enhancing COSs Contribution to Evidence-Based Policy Making for Vulnerable Groups” (ENCON).
